Patrick Mitchell Elected Chief Executive Officer of Builders Insurance Group

ATLANTA, November 19, 2007 – Builders Insurance Group today announced that Patrick Mitchell will expand his current duties as President by also assuming the role of Chief Executive Officer. In addition, Mitchell has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors.

''The Board chose to enhance Patrick's role based on his strong record with the Company over the last two years plus his extensive leadership and financial background,'' said Allen Richardson, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Builders Insurance Group. ''Patrick has clearly demonstrated that he understands our business and is well skilled to lead the company on its strategic course while managing changing market conditions.''

Mitchell has over 26 years of experience in corporate leadership and financial management with the last 17 years dedicated to the insurance industry. He joined Builders Insurance Group in August 2005 as Chief Financial Officer before being appointed President in May 2007. Prior to this, Mitchell served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ascent Assurance, Inc. (formerly Westbridge Capital Corp.) where he managed the successful turnaround of this insurance holding company for the individual health insurance market. Mitchell was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Westbridge prior to its reorganization.

Additionally, Mitchell has worked for Bankers Life and Casualty Company and Delphi Financial Group, Inc. He began his career with Arthur Young & Company where he earned his Certified Public Accountant designation. Mitchell is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University.
