So, to pitch in, we partnered with Habitat for Humanity of NW Metro Atlanta to make a positive impact close to home.

Over Father’s Day weekend, a team of 25 Builders participated in our own Habitat Build Day in Marietta. This build will produce the future home of Methany, a Social Emotional Learning Teacher at Marietta Middle School, and her husband Kelcey who faces ongoing health challenges. The couple have two grandchildren and one adult daughter who provides caregiving duties while the family rents a cramped townhouse in Cartersville, far from work and without any play space for their grandchildren. This new home will remove many hardships and allow the family to live where they work.
“I feel like I’ve won the lottery. It is amazingly surreal and truly a blessing!” Methany stated, overwhelmed to tears. “I am super excited that my husband and I get to help…even if it’s just to hammer a nail or the smallest of details!”
An insurer called Builders…actually building! The 25 Builders, led by Belinda Fleming in Claims, erected interior framing, walls, and installed windows on the house for Methany and her family. Getting into gritty labor with Habitat for Humanity means Builders team members carried out the very tasks we insure, fostering a natural appreciation for the determined men and women who make America work.
Clearly, we’re more than your average carrier.
Builders’ partnership with Habitat included a sponsorship of $16,750 along with the sweat equity of the Builder volunteers, and we are proud of our hard-working team of volunteers for representing the culture of community giving that permeates the walls of our office – and soon a real home.
